John was born and raised in the Adirondack Mountains,
weaned on jigs, reels, clog dances and bluegrass. A retired Navy Captain, John has traveled the world absorbing many musical
and cultural influences. Celtic music has captured his heart. His deep, rich, baritone voice is a blend of numerous styles
and textures and resonates clear. He is heavily influenced by the ancient melodies of yesterday as well as most Irish and
Scottish groups of recent history.
John covers the entire
spectrum of Celtic music from haunting ballads through traditional tunes, Gaelic tunes, pub favorites, Robert Burns and a
host of other Scottish and Irish songs often with a history lesson thrown in. John has performed at numerous festivals and
venues throughout Maryland. John is a member of the Celtic Society of Southern Maryland and the Southern Maryland Traditional
Music and Dance groups. He resides in St. Mary’s County in Southern Maryland.
